1) Sag Harbor
Just a few minutes drive north of E. Hampton lies Sag Harbor. It is an old fishing village. The main street is beautiful, and even from the far end you can just about see the bay. Lots of antiques shops. Be sure to see the Whaling Museum! map
2. The Whaling Museum in Sag Harbor
The Sag Harbor Whaling Museum is a museum in Sag Harbor, New York, dedicated to the town's past as a prosperous whaling port. It houses the largest collection of whaling equipment in the state of New York. During the 19th century, Sag Harbor, New York became one of the busiest ports in the northeast, where whalers of many nationalities could be seen walking the streets. Drive out to Montauk and stop at Lunch at Cyril's on the way for clams. Visit the lighthouse and have a drink at Gossman's upstair bar. Montauk is often billed as the "un-Hamptons" with its laid-back pace of living and surfer culture. Montauk boasts some of the best sand and surf around. In 2009, Surfer magazine named it one of the Ten Best Surf Towns in America.
